UPS + Ubuntu

  1. Connect the UPS
  2. sudo apt-get install apcupsd
  3. sudo gedit /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf
  4. UPSCABLE to USB
  5. UPSTYPE to USB
  6. Comment the DEVICE line
  7. sudo gedit /etc/default/apcupsd
  8. ISCONFIGURED to yes
  9. sudo service apcupsd restart
  10. apcaccess
  11. Now you should see all the UPS info.

Optional: Reboot after power fail:

  1. sudo gedit /etc/init.d/halt
  2. poweroff=”-p” to poweroff=”"
